Cast set for ‘From Prada to Nada’


Adriana Barraza, store Camilla Belle, view Alexa Vega, find Wilmer Valderrama and Kuno Becker have been cast in romantic comedy “From Prada to Nada,” a contempo Latino version of Jane Austen’s “Sense and Sensibility.”
Odd Lot Entertainment, Lionsgate and Mexico-based Videocine are production, financing and distribution partners on the English-language project. Odd Lot’s Gigi Pritzker and Linda McDonough will produce, along with Rossana Arau and Gary Gilbert.

Fina Torres (“Woman on Top”) is directing from a script she co-wrote with Luis Alfaro. Story follows two spoiled sisters who are left penniless after the sudden death of their father and are forced to move in with their estranged aunt in East Los Angeles.

Lionsgate will distribute in North America and Odd Lot Intl. will handle sales in foreign territories at the upcoming AFM.

Barraza’s credits include “Babel” and “Drag Me to Hell.” Belle starred in “When a Stranger Calls” and “10,000 B.C.”
